There are some instances where a tooth cannot be saved and tooth extraction is the last resort. Removing the tooth itself is relatively straight forward and is not painful.
You will feel a little bit of pressure, and a local anaesthetic is usually enough for most people. Once the tooth is removed, the dentist will discuss options in terms of replacement such as a bridge or an implant.
